WVU undergrad, in-state tuition to go up 5.73 percent - Ryan Quinn, WV Gazette

The West Virginia University Board of Governors approved Friday tuition and fee increases for next academic year at its Morgantown, Health Sciences, Institute of Technology and Potomac State College campuses. The price hikes are part of budget plans that include performance-based employee raises for next fiscal year. “We have to be fiscally responsible to the bigger picture,” board Vice Chairman David Alvarez said. “And with the growing economy in north-central West Virginia, the demand on personnel and not to mention the demand for quality personnel to the university as a whole ... this is a global university, and we have to be competitive in the market and we want to ensure the best education for our students.” He also noted lawmakers have cut WVU’s state appropriations in past years, “and, just because it was stable this year, didn’t mean we were not in transition.” https://www.wvgazettemail.com/news/education/wvu-undergrad-in-state-tuition-to-go-up-percent/article_9d08b157-2414-5998-a1b4-25ebc1906198.html
