CUNY’s School of Medicine dean quits over budget quarrel - Melissa Klein, NY Post
The dean of CUNY’s School of Medicine has quit over a funding dispute that he contends jeopardizes the longterm health of the program. “I have a profound disagreement with the CUNY administration with regard to the financial matters of the school … that are seriously jeopardizing our ability to grow and to pursue our ultimate goal: full accreditation,” Dr. Maurizio Trevisan wrote in a Feb. 1 email announcing his resignation. In an email sent days earlier, he threatened to quit if the medical school, which is part of City College of New York in Harlem, could not control its own funds.
