Cabrillo College, with all of its recent success and tremendous community support, faces some challenges. To put it simply, the college has a curb appeal problem and a funding problem. Don’t think of curb appeal in the normal sense of a real estate agent telling you to spruce up your home. Cabrillo’s problem runs in the opposite direction. It looks great from the street, but virtually everything invisible from Soquel Drive is in need of repair, modernization and replacement. Here’s a recent example. On July 10, the college had a major sewer line rupture under the Aptos Cafeteria Building.
