Manchester and Asnuntuck Community colleges will lose a combined $1.6 million from their budgets under a plan announced Thursday to address a budgetary shortfall across the state’s 12 community colleges. The Board of Regents for Higher Education announced the spending reductions during the same meeting in which members approved a 3.5 percent salary increase for certain non-union employees. The spending reductions, distributed across all community colleges and the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities system office, total close to $11 million.
