More than 600 faculty members and administrators are eligible for an early retirement offer at Ohio University as the school navigates budget challenges amid declining enrollment. Eligible employees were notified this month after the OU board of trustees passed a resolution in January authorizing university officials to develop the incentives for early retirement and voluntary separation. A separate incentive program is also available to about 66 custodians who work in residence halls. Employees who intend to take the offer must inform the university by March 21.
