MAC, Big Ten moves might be beginning of end for college football this fall August 8th, 2020 - RALPH D. RUSSO, The Associated Press

The MAC is one of 10 conferences that compete in the NCAA's highest level of football, and Saturday it became the first of those to surrender to the coronavirus pandemic and cancel the fall sports season.  Tapping the brakes on preseason preparation for football, the Big Ten told its schools that until further notice, full-contact practices cannot begin. All teams will remain in what is known as the "acclimatization period," working out in helmets but not full pads. The first Big Ten games of the season are scheduled for Sept. 5, though the league's plan already had flexibility built in to adjust the opening date or make up other games.
