 In the first months of the pandemic, UD’s administration predicted one-year losses of $49 million for 2020. For the two years 2020 and 2021, predicted deficit estimates swelled from $100 million to $168 million. In recent weeks, the revised estimate has skyrocketed to a $250 million revenue shortfall or more. Even for an organization with a nearly $1.5 billion-dollar endowment, those numbers — if accurate — are staggering.
