Under the WSU proposal pending approval by the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system students majoring or minoring in the programs would be allowed to graduate, but no new students would be admitted. Upper level courses, dominated by students focused on the languages, would be offered only if there is significant demand. French and German’s low enrollment have made the language programs vulnerable when WSU is trying to shave costs because of impending state funding cuts.
