Purdue plays waiting game on tuition hikes - Eric Weddle, Journal Land Courier

Purdue, like other public colleges in Indiana, is holding off on setting its tuition decisions until the General Assembly votes on the next two-year state budget. That's expected by April 29. Unlike previous years, declining state revenues and the national recession have caused Gov. Mitch Daniels to warn higher education leaders that a funding reduction of up to 5 percent should be anticipated between now and mid-2011. Purdue ranks as the fifth lowest among Big Ten Conference schools for resident tuition, and sixth for nonresident tuition.
