Ga. lawmakers approve midyear budget - Associated Press

House Appropriations Chairman Terry England, an Auburn Republican, says lagging tax collections required spending cuts in certain areas of the budget. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the midyear budget cuts $73 million from the University System of Georgia and nearly $40 million from economic development programs.
