Delgado Community College facing more cuts, proposed layoffs - Tania Dall, Eyewitness News
Pink slips could soon be making the rounds at Delgado Community College for a second time in two months. College officials say reductions in staff and programs are being looked at to close a multi-million dollar budget gap. Like many community colleges across the state Delgado is feeling the budget crunch. Late Friday, staff and faculty at the college got a memo warning them about possible layoffs. "What's going on now is we're trying to find out what the options are to try and close the gap that remains for the rest of the fiscal year," said college spokesman Tony Cook.
