Cutting programs with low enrolment, laying off employees and reducing the workload of others, is all a result of government reducing the College of the North Atlantic’s budget by $15 million this year. Ann Marie Vaughan, president of public college, said $6.6 million of the total reduction went toward the removal of adult basic education.
That means the college has to make up the difference, with $4 million of that coming from decisions on low enrolment.
