GPRC anticipates cuts following Alberta budget - Alexa Huffman, Grande Prairie Daily Herald-Tribune

A reduction in provincial grant funding will mean job losses and program cuts at Grande Prairie Regional College. The 2015-16 Alberta budget includes a 4.1% reduction in post-secondary education funding over two years. Grande Prairie Regional College (GPRC), which is forecasting a $69 million operating budget at the end of its two-year cycle, will see a 1.4% cut in the first year, followed by a 2.7% cut in 2016-17. All Alberta colleges and universities in the province are dealing with the same operating grant reduction. “We’ve been watching the environment for the last six months knowing that there would be implications, so we’ve been preparing for quite some time,” said Don Gnatiuk, GPRC president and CEO. http://www.dailyheraldtribune.com/2015/04/05/gprc-anticipates-cuts-following-alberta-budget
