University of Central Oklahoma plans to make adjustments to meet budget - Jason Burger, KOCO

The problem stems from less student enrollment, having gone down in the last few years. The university wants to change their student to teacher ratio because of that. "If enrollment does not stabilize, if it keeps going down, we’re going to have to adjust. And I think that is a part of our new normal," UCO President Patti Neuhold-Ravikumor said. At a recent budget meeting, UCO officials said their enrollment rate made a nose-dive from 2016 to 2020. Now, lots of jobs at the university are in jeopardy. "The impact of this means that we will have a reduction of 40-plus full-time faculty lines for next year’s budget," Neuhold-Ravikumor said.
