Universities are perceived as generally collegial places where learning is paramount and academic inquiry a given. But in this, one of South Carolina’s toughest budget years in memory, some of the less collegial side has reared its head. At Clemson University, a former professor has questioned how the university is run, especially how it pays its top people.
