Auburn University’s division of student affairs is laying off eight employees, according to division vice president Dr. Ainsley Carry. The decision affects four building specialists who clean the Auburn University Student Center and four administrative support workers. Carry said the employees were notified of the department’s decision Tuesday. The layoffs will go into effect Aug. 6. On Friday, Carry held a meeting with employees whose positions were not being deleted at the Student Center. The Opelika-Auburn News attended the meeting, but was asked to leave and did so voluntarily.
