Illinois universities and community colleges will get $100 million less from state - Chicago Tribune

State universities and community colleges will get about $100 million less this year under Gov. Pat Quinn's budget. Public universities are losing $86 million that last year went to pay employees. Southern Illinois University at Carbondale officials said the cash was federal stimulus money they figured would run out, so they didn't count on it in their budget. Community colleges are getting $14 million less in grants that were used to help students with physical and developmental disabilities.
