Tight SIUC budget costs 4 employees their jobs - Jennifer Fuller, Chicago Tribune

The chancellor of Southern Illinois University's Carbondale campus says the jobs of four university employees will be eliminated due to a difficult budget situation. Chancellor Rita Cheng says two civil service employees and two non-tenure track faculty members will be laid off. The original cost savings plan called for the elimination of 18 jobs, but Cheng says 14 of those employees were placed in other open positions.
