Gov. Mitch Daniels urged a conference of college trustees to put their love of their schools on the backburner when it comes time to make tough, financial decisions. "You are not there to be a mindless cheerleader," said Daniels, who delivered the keynote address to kick off today's first Trustees Academy. After taking a $150 million budget hit last year, due to statewide budget cutbacks ordered by the governor, the trustees plan to devote much of today's gathering to efficiency in spending.
