Arizona regents mull performance-based funding for universities - Angela Gonzoles, Phoenix Business Journal
The committee proposed that university funding be linked to the following performance-based measures: increases in the number of degrees produced, increases in completed student credit hours, and gains in outside funding for research and public service funding. Universities would lose funds for decreases in these measures. ABOR President Tom Anderes said these recommendations are consistent with the university system’s transition to an output-driven enterprise model. “We look forward to working with policymakers to officially move to a performance-based funding system during the 2012 legislative session,” he said.
