Marian cuts $1.1M with staff, course reductions - Sharon Roznik, Action Reporter Media

Budget cuts at Marian University have reduced staff and eliminated some majors, according to a recent memo sent to faculty and staff by Interim President Bob Fale. The goal set called for reducing the private, parochial university's budget by $1.1 million for the 2015-16 school year. Lisa Kidd, director of university relations, said Marian is taking steps to streamline operations, and as a result, eight full-time positions were eliminated. "We took a closer look at our operating budget and expenses and better aligned our expenses with our revenue," Kidd said, noting that many colleges and universities had to take steps to consolidate resources. http://www.fdlreporter.com/story/news/education/2015/06/25/marian-university-cuts-million-staff-course-reductions/29295159/
