Budget impasse in Illinois leads to no college funding for 8 months - Daniel McDonald, Daily News

Want to see what happens if the trend of state disinvestment in higher education continues to the extreme? Look no further than Illinois right now. A budget impasse in the state between the state’s Republican governor and Democratic legislature has prevented the state’s public colleges and universities from receiving any state funding for eight months. Public colleges and universities across the country rely heavily on state funding to operate. The political situation in Illinois provides a window into what could happen if state funding dwindled to nothing. http://www.dailynewsx.com/news/business-news/budget-impasse-in-illinois-leads-to-no-college-funding-for-8-months-48536.html
