Mitzel speaks to legislators Monday on the proposed $7.5 million budget cut for DSU - Kalsey Stults, Dickinson Press

Dickinson State University President Thomas Mitzel met with legislators on Monday to present the three phases of the $7.5 million budget cut that former Gov. Jack Dalrymple proposed. While it is still in the early phase of discussion and legislators will not vote until spring, Mitzel wanted to present what the budget cut would mean for the college if approved. "We just need a little wind in our sails this biennium, and then we will be on our own. We will be fine," he said. Mitzel said he will work hard to try to get legislators to give them an extra push through the next two years. "This is a unique situation. If they can see that, if I can help show them that this really is a unique situation in which we find ourselves this biennium—this is where we need our help, Mitzel added. http://www.thedickinsonpress.com/news/education/4200960-mitzel-speaks-legislators-monday-proposed-75-million-budget-cut-dsu
