Trump budget hits CDBG, public broadcasting efforts locally - CHARLES A. MASON, BG Daily News

One Western Kentucky University official said his program can’t be sustained under the budget cuts proposed by the Trump administration, comparing the loss to cutting out one-third of a beating heart. Trump’s multi-billion dollar budget augmented spending for the U.S. military and the U.S. security apparatus while wielding the ax on such programs as the Appalachian Regional Commission, heating assistance and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, among others.
