SFCC board declares financial emergency - Robert Nott, The New Mexican

The Santa Fe Community College Governing Board, declaring a financial state of emergency Wednesday, voted to raise tuition rates in preparation for an expected $1 million drop in state funding. “We live in a very uncertain time with no state budget for the college,” President Randy Grissom told the five-member board. “This is a crisis.” Gov. Susana Martinez and state lawmakers have not yet agreed on a state budget for the fiscal year that begins July 1. Martinez vetoed nearly half the $6.1 billion spending plan approved by both chambers of the Legislature in March, cutting all higher education spending and all legislative funds. http://www.santafenewmexican.com/news/education/sfcc-board-declares-financial-emergency/article_13eab941-2480-5923-9688-132cb5c3272f.html
