Layoff notice filed as Rock Hill college ends food-services contract - Jenna Martin, Charlotte Business Journal

A Philadelphia-based food-services company has filed a layoff notice with the state of South Carolina. Up to 182 employees will be affected as a result of its contract ending with Winthrop University in Rock Hill, although many could find work through the company's replacement. Aramark, after learning July 12 that its food-services contract with the public college would not be renewed, alerted the state through a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification that it expects to lay off those 182 workers at the Rock Hill institution as of July 31. https://www.bizjournals.com/charlotte/news/2018/07/18/layoff-notice-filed-as-rock-hill-college-looks-to.html
