With enrollment down, Northeastern Junior College president says now's the time to spend money on upgrades - Sara Waite, Journal-Advocate

NJC Physical Plant Director Tracy Knox is working on a plan to improve the exteriors of the old dormitories on campus, replacing the maroon panels with a spray-on product that resembles stucco. Discussion about budget and enrollment yielded an important question for the Northeastern Junior College Advisory Council Thursday: After renovations at Williams Hall are complete, should the school continue with updating Poole Hall, then Herboldsheimer Hall? The answer, according to NJC President Jay Lee, largely lies in funding. The meeting included an update on enrollment, which is down 4.12 percent compared to a year ago, as well as housing. The first floor of Williams Hall is undergoing renovations right now, but should be done by mid-November and ready for students in the spring semester, according to Physical Plant Director Tracey Knox. http://www.journal-advocate.com/sterling-local_news/ci_32153086/enrollment-down-northeastern-junior-college-president-says-nows
